The Wondrous Shea Butter

The Wondrous Shea Butter

Are you looking for a holiday gift for someone you love or for yourself?
Maybe a skin care product that will make your skin glow and help with dryness during the winter?
Some facial creams sound plain magical and promises to make you look like you are 15 years younger with flawless plump skin.
It is hard not to fall for those photoshopped images full of beautiful women with glowing perfect skin.
But have you noticed that most of these products have warnings about skin irritation in the fine print? And long lists with unfamiliar, hard to pronounce names in their ingredient lists? Not only that, they're expensive too, some costs hundreds of dollars for a small jar.

If you are like me and don’t like this, you have to try African Shea Butter.

It’s A M A Z I N G. Cheaper too. 16 fl. Oz costs about 22 dollars.

I like this one. Inesscents Shea Butter is unrefined and flies off the shelves which means that it's always fresh when you buy it. They do run out often. Don't stock up on it though. It lasts a long time, but if it sits unused for too long it goes bad. It's a fresh natural product. It should look whitish yellow when you buy and should become oily after rubbing between your palms. If it's greenish and feels grainy even after rubbing for a long time it's too old. Return it.

It actually does what those skin care companies promise, but it has one organic and Fair Trade ingredient. African Shea butter, made from the karité nut which is extremely rich and moisturizing.
I discovered it about five years ago and I have used nothing except for sunblock since.
The skin on my arms feel as if I'm touching that fresh, slightly moist and soft skin on a little baby. It's that good.
It’s an incredible facial cream and keeps your skin soft and plump all day. My face has never looked better and I’m 51. It of course won’t remove wrinkles, but those little dryness lines do disappear, so it may seem as if it does.

It’s good as anti-chafing protection for runners as well. I use it under bra straps, seams, and on my inner thighs under running pants or long shorts. I wouldn’t use it as a glide though, it's too sticky.

Shea Butter is very thick and comes as a solid paste in a small tub. Take a little bit and rub between your palms for it to soften before you rub it on your skin. When you use it on your face, take a second look in the mirror a few minutes after you apply it. After it “melts,” your face might look too shiny and greasy, if it does, gently rub it off and use the remainder for your hands and arms.
Same thing if you use it on your body. Wait a while before you get dressed and before you go to bed. It is a little sticky and will stain sheets and clothes before its fully absorbed.
Something else to be aware of, it doesn't smell too good, but the scent disappears after a while and it's a very small price to pay for such an incredible product. If you want, you can always add a few drops of an essential oil. Orange or lavender oils are nice. Lemon juice would work too, but I would add it only to the portion I will use at one time.
